The law of unintended consequences

As an Apple user, I did, of course, enjoy this story. It will - or it should - serve, however, as a lesson to us all. The lesson is: always try to think things through.

Microsoft have a new ad out (the story behind it is well summarised by MacWorld). Their intention was to show that Macs are expensive - but then surely everyone knows that? Sadly for Microsoft what they did was to imply that people using PCs were less cool that Mac owners.

Come on Microsoft - surely you have the resources to have professional people thinking about these things. That's the second or third set of ads in a while that have back-fired. Once is bad - but this is just embarrassing.
